We all saw the Joe Rogan podcast, where Mike Tyson shared his thoughts on marijuana, and how at this particular time in his life he’s been able to really make the jump into the business landscape. The former boxing heavyweight Champ, expressed his plans to distribute all over the world, as he broke ground on his 40-acre cannabis ranch and resort called Tyson Ranch. As of right now, there is no official opening date for Tyson Ranch, however, his company Tyson Holistic is currently operating the farm.
According to reports, Tyson Ranch is in California City near Edwards Air Force Base. Tyson plans to use half of the acres for growing some of the highest quality strains of cannabis, and the other half will host extraction facilities, and factories to create edibles and store supplies. He even wants to stretch as far as opening a cultivation school, and campsites for visitors to spend the weekend while they partake in some of his… “actives.” We all know Tyson doesn’t mess around, inside and outside the ring. Just look at the official Tyson Ranch collector’s box he brought Joe Rogan on that evening’s show.

As 33 states have currently legalized pot, he believes U.S Congress will have to take the necessary steps to legalize the plant federally. Tyson goes on the record saying to Rogan “I’m just going with this bizarre world, and we’ll see what happens.” Tyson explains that they are currently working with other third-party growers, with the short-term objective of distributing all over the country. He also wants the Ranch to develop into one of the hottest destinations for concerts, a “Neverland” for marijuana enthusiasts. He even announced a weed-friendly music festival on his land. The event, called the Kind Music Festival, features R&B singer Miguel as the headliner along with five other acts. Those who want to attend need to mark February 23rd on their calendars to catch the one-day “pop up micro-festival.”
Although California City Mayor, Jennifer Wood is calling the Ranch, a “rebirth” for the entire city – we can only stay optimistic at this time. Tyson seems to be using his brand name to make some large promises, and although we are all curious to see what comes out of this Ranch, it’s easy for a company his size to mismanage and fail on execution. With that said, the people love Tyson and are showing him the utmost support in not only his recent overcoming of drug addiction but now his dreams of Cannabis superstardom. We wish Mike the best of luck in all his future endeavors and look forward to following the progress of Tyson Ranch.
